  1. Indian Falls: 2km - A local hidden gem of a waterfall with newly expanded walking trails and a picnic area

  2. Maplewood Maple Syrup & Christmas‑Tree Farm: 4 km – Family owned and operated, retail store and tours

  3. Lunenburg County Winery: 4 km – Specializes in Nova Scotia-grown fruit wines with a blueberry u-pick

  4. Parkdale‑Maplewood Community Museum: 5 km – Showcases the history of rural life in Lunenburg County

  4. Amethyst Cove – 100km – A challenging hike leading to a beach with amethyst, agate, quartz, and more

  5. Halifax – 113km – Our province's capital is a walkable city rich in history (Citadel Hill, Maritime Museum of the Atlantic) live music, and culinary arts. Feeling adventurous? Get on the Harbour Hopper or a tall ship!

  • Expect to lose service: Many remote locations in Nova Scotia do not have cell service

  • Pack a cooler: Hidden gems are everywhere! You will find many picnic-worthy stops on your travels

  • Ask for recommendations: Chat with us or friendly locals to get insider for your adventure

  • Visitor Information Centre: Our nearest one is located at 165 Edgewater Street in Mahone Bay
